I live in Port Orchard and although it is beautiful looking out of the window at it, It is not beautiful when you can not get out. A week now and I am getting cabin fever. I would be very happy if I dont see another flake this winter. It fell so thick on my car port it came down on my car. That makes it not quite so beautiful. At 70 it isn't enjoyable when you can't get around without your car and its burried under the car port covered with it.

  • SNOW!!!

I know most of these messages were written over a week ago, but I still have over 8" of snow on the ground and more in some spots (I just measured it). I think in all total we had close to 3'. The most snow fall that we got at one time was 18", but it's not melting away fast, even with the temperature being in the 40's. We live in Bremerton, out Wildcat lake way, Close to the base of Gold Mt. Right now the wind has picked up seems to be a never ending adventure in Weather.....By the way, I under stand about the cabin fever, I think that since before Christmas around the 22nd I have left the property maybe 4 times and that was because I had a package that UPS couldn't figure out how to open the trailer and deliver it. Sorry, not a great subject, I have nothing good to say about UPS and the way they Milked the weather. Blaming their incompetence on not getting packages out , even ones that were in the area WAY before the weather hit, on the snow. UPS instead of trying to make peoples Holidays better, after they couldn't get the packages delivered in time for Christmas, they took the Weekend after Christmas off and then They took the 31st and the 1st off. Which we all know the 31st is NOT a Holiday!!! They had no concern about the customer and to top it all off they are not even going to refund on packages that they continued to take one and two day delivery on ...I understand not refunding the ground, but to not refund the one and two day delivery packages when they took the money and Guaranteed the delivery, knowing full well that it wasn't going to be delivered because they were already so far behind. On all of the trips to UPS, I heard of several packages that were to have been delivered a week or more before the snow fell, that they were  blaming on the snow... I will never use UPS again to send anything. I would rather pay the difference between them and another co. to insure that my package arrives. So sorry that I got off on this tangent , but it sort of has to do with snow....

But Back to how much snow we got I think we got way over this years (2008) allotted amount. I don't mind it if it snows and stays for a few days but this staying on the ground for weeks gets very tiring.... for some reason this is cominig up under photos??? I'm kinda computer dumb so I am sorry for this too...There is a new photo showing the measurement that i just took   and the wind...
